so now i am home and i cannot believe i am writing my blog about my last night out in sydney with everyone, it seems so unreal. it just went by way way to fast. I seriously cannot believe what an amazing experience this has been, i just
cannot get over it.
I feel as though in sydney, i have learned so much about myself and the world. Trying not to be cliche or anything, bu
t I just feel like I was different there, things didn't matter. We were all just so excited to be there and embrace sydney and
all adventures as they came! In Sydney, nothing was stopping us. I have never become so comfortable around a group of people so fast, already showing them my pretzel and doing ugly face contests... its no wonder we all cried when we left! With such an different group too.... we are already planning reunions :).
My last day of work was anything short of just freakin fabulous!! Laura told me at the beginning of the day that they wanted to give me a little going away present, so she told me i could pick a fragrance! i was stoked!! I knew that red roses was always my favorite scent, but I had sooo many rose fragrances by now. Coming to Jo
Malone I had been introduced to one of my now favs Vintage Gardenia, but i also learned so
much about "fragrance combining" I spent literally the entire day trying to decide which fragrance to choose. Laura
obviously saw that i was having a hard time, so she said that instead i could pick two 30ml fragrances, instead of just one 100ml!! and then this made it even harder
haha!
The day went by soooo fast! Julius was handing off all of his birthday packages from his mother to me haha which
included the most amazing fruits--grapes, blood orange, persimmon, huge green apples, sooo tasty! and some yummy chocolates too :)....Then around 3:30pm, Holly and I sat down for a last catch up, which was fantastic! we talked for an entire hour about her background, about the business as a whole, and about me... it was so inspiring and really made me think about my future. Holly's background was just so interesting too--from teacher in the
UK, to entrepreneur, to internal PR coordinator, to just a few years as the Executive Brand
manager for Jo malone and La Mer... she had only been there for a few years! I decided that i really like the structure of Estee Lauder and definitely see myself working there, perhaps beginning in Julius' role as a Sales Executive--that way i
can do all the math things :) And then working my way up! Holly also said that she would definitely recommend me to work for Jo Malone in London (which i am hopefully planning next summer after i study abroad!!) Then i thought i could work for estee Lauder in new york, and i would be able to see every market!
We talked about how different the markets were between the UK, USA, and Australia... and sooo much more (i dont
want to bore you :) ).
Holly was just sooo complimenting, explaining that I had outshined Siena even (who got fired :/... apparently i had done a bunch of her work too! Julius though
t i was the fastest learner with Excel too... he was going to miss me soo much! The entire team wanted me to stay SO bad hahah.... i wish!!!!
After our catch up, we all toasted to Champagne! such fun! more compliments, and then gifts! i decided on Vintage
Gardenia and French Lime Blossom... and then was shocked when i received a La Mer bag! (La Mer is SO expensive!) On the way home from work, i realized that i had received 995 Australian dollars worth! OH MY GOSH! I had received two perfumes, the Creme de la mer (in gel form :) ) a cleanser and a hydrating infusion...wow my
skin is going to be fabulous!!
I left work so so giddy and excited for life hahah and i did NOT want to leave!!
Nightime:
After work, I went home and tried to pack a little bit (i was doing the whole "i dont wanna leave so i am not going to pack" thing, but i had to be out by 10am the next morning!) but watevs hahah.... So i packed a little, and then met up with Katie D, Alexa, Tracy, and Alex... we walked up to the Rocks and went to the First Pub in Sydney!! (it was founded in the 1800s i think crazay!)
we just stayed for one drink and the met up with Jackie, Libby, and Jordan for a nice, classy, fancy dinner at Saki :)!!! I had some of the best sushi and saki i have
everrr had! first we split edamame, and then i got the sushi avocado roll, and then we all at this raw tuna and avocado salad (absolutely dyinnggg over the freshness of the tuna). I also got a limoncello saki drink... wow!
Then we went next door to Argile, omg such a posh bar! i cannot even explain its chicness :)...
we stayed for such a while, dancing, drinking lychee caprioskas... my new favs :)...
meeting such fun people too! The bathrooms at the Argile are the coolest part: they are unisex and are in this humongous, long, room with stalls and then the coolest urinals that are behind big sculpture things (too hard to explain haha) and this really cool sink where the water comes down from the ceiling!.
After that we went over to three monkeys to just celebrate a last time there... and then of course ended with Kebabs at 3:30 am!! we all werent even hungry from such a good dinner, but we jsut haaaddd to get kebabs our last night :)!
i got one with falafel, garlic yogurt sauce, sweet chili sauce, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, so yum! We finally got to bed at like 4am hahaha sooo sad i dont wanna leaveee!!!
