So first off, Tracy and I headed to the Powerhouse Museum in the morning, which was awesome! its a science museum and has all this cool stuff about inventions, and chemistry, and machinery... we saw everything from old cars and trains to robots and learned how electriticy and laundry detergent works hahaha... but what most cool were the exhibitions that had at the moment... one was all about where products (including fashion, homeware, furniture, dishware, etc) gets its inspiration from... basically it went from like the 1700s all the way until today! with all these cool clothes, and gold chests and clocks, and beautiful pottery, etc... they had a bunch of alessi stuff in the more modern times and also some amazing photography and architecture! i was so amazed by how builders get inspiration to make such odd shaped chairs and desks etc, and i loved looking at the difference between fashion over the years! i saw a model of the opera house and did not realize how freakin cool the actual architecture of thebuilding is!!!!!! all the rooms and floors that are stacked so intricately... soo cool.
and then they had another exhibit that i absolutely DIED over (flo and dad would have loved it!) it was definitely up there with my fav museum exhibits so far (which include MET's Model as a Muse exhibit last summer, De Young's YSL and Andy Warhol exhibits, Victor and Rolf exhibit in london....) anyways it was called something along the lines of a "Trip through the 80's" and it was alll about 80's rock and music and the hip toys etc! the inside was playing of course some of my favoriteeee songss, including lady hawke :) and they had the coolest record covers and outfits of all the famous bands... including a glove and jacket from michael jackson! they had like old pac-man video games and care bears too hahaha... it was definitely a highlight of the museum!
After that we walked over and met katie in darling harbor and then went to pancakes on the rocks for lunch!! i got the strawberry patch... two super fluffy and big pancakes with strawberries, strawberry coulis (sauce), vanilla ice cream, and cream on top! i gobbled it up :) so yum!
before.....
after....then we walked through the darling harbor shops and i bought a few cute shirts and sweaters at this store called cotton on, which is like a cheaper version of american apparel... after we shopped around a bit, we then went to the sydney wild life world
