Wine tasting in Hunter Valley then Golden Sheaf!

saturday we went wine tasting in hunter valley!!

of course it started off as a little rough morning for the most of us haha friday night was just too fun! but we left for hunter valley at 9am and drove about 2 and a half hours inland on a big bus (luckily we each had our own seast so we could sleep on the way there) but the view driving was so pretty!

first we went to wine resort place where we got a tour of the grape making process (we saw the vines and inside with all the machines etc) and then we got treated to a fantastic lunch of pizzas and salads and brushetta and garlic bread.

after that we got to taste the wine! we tasted four wines (two whites and two reds) one of the reds was actually a merlot and it was my fav i think of the four... i felt so posh sipping the wine and swirling it and following all the steps to taste it.

after we tasted the wine we all got to sit ouside on this grass hill where a band was playing and everyone was just around eating food and drinking, i could have sat there in the sun for hours!! it was sooo relaxing, it reminded me of laguna beach and the pageant of the masters/saw dust festival where everyone i just sitting outside in the sun! we were sooo lucky with the best weather ever!

after that we drove to another winery called draytons where we tasted a whole lot of wine (from whites to reds to roses to ports you name it.. and of course had to pair them off with cheese and crakers!) omg i tried one of the BEST wines i have everrr had! it was called lily of the white and it was a sweet white wine, ohhh my gosh! i bought a bottle and i am going to send it home! cannot wait to share it with the fam! they also had the wine in a rose version which was justtt as good, but for some reason the white was juuustt a tad bit better :) after we all bought some bottles, we drove over to a little shopping center with fun specialy shops, a park, a gazebo, and some little stands going... we all overdosed on the sweets there haha because they had this amazinggg chocolate fudge shop where i tried bubblegum, custard, and chocolate banana fudge! (the bubblegum was soo weird haha) and chocolate rocks and then i tried a chili chocolate, pretty interesting! then they had a cupcake stand where i tried a passionfruit cupcake, which was okay and then i had a bite of katie's gluten free orange one (not my fav hahaha) and then i went and got gelato! mint chip of course, and then they had these amazing jams to try (it was just an amazing place haha) and then of course to top it off kelly got some wedges and we all shared them... yum yum yum

oh real quick, when i say wedges, it means a plate full of potatoe wedges (they are different from french fries because they are just big pieces and still have the skin on, and they have this seasoning on them) and you eat them with sour cream and chili sauce... sooo goood!

okay so back to wine tasting, so we left that place around 5pm, and then headed back home... we got back around 7:30 or 8, and we all just had dinner by ourselves and then got ready to go out of course!! it is kelly's last night here :(! so we had to take her to the golden sheaf, our fav place in bondi where they have the most good lookin crowd and best band/music ever hahaha... so we danced the night away there (until it closed at 2) and then took taxis back, of course stopping for food, and then called it a night :)

i am sooo bummed because kelly leaves tomorrow! she is the cutest girl little asian ever! haha she is the epitome of class, she is alwaysss in heals no matter what and talks with her little new zealand british type accent, and she is going to be the best stylist ever when she grows up! she's been interning for instyle magazine and doing styling for them, but she starts university again on monday :( so she must go back to new zealand, but she grew up riding horses and fencing... and she talks soo eloquently haha, but the best part about her is that she LOVES bakiing! and cooking! i was so mad because on the way home from hunter valley we talked the whole way about all of our favorite foods and desserts and found that we like EVERYTHING the same!!! i was soo bummed because we wanted to bake lamingtons and make sushi and cook pizzas etc, but she is leaving :(! but good news...

she absolutely LOVES nyc, just like me :) and is going in november so she must stop in california!! i can't wait to take her to every fro yo place (because she lovesss fro yo but they dont have it like anywhere here) and susie cakes so she can try to best cupcakes! and we are going to exchange addresses for snail mail :) i am going to send her a package with a hippo cookie, swedish fish (we were talkign about those) and funfetti mix... hahaha

and then even better, she is studying abroad in paris during the spring!! yayayayay!! we are already planning our wine and cheese dates, and of course our tea and la duree macaroons dates everyyy day (she loves macaroons! and tea!! and crepes, but who doesnt :) ) and also she said that her best friend has a house in the english country side all to himself for the month of january! its like a jane austen house with all this land around it!! so i soooo want to go there too :)

oh plans plans plans!
